Free downloadThe NBCOT Readiness Checklist.
One page, four phases, no fluff. What to have in place six weeks out, three weeks out, in the final week, and on the morning itself. Free — we only ask for an email so we can send it to you and check in as your date gets closer.
Six weeks out
- Confirm your eligibility and testing window with NBCOT directly.
- Take a diagnostic set and write down your two weakest domains.
- Block study time on a real calendar, including one rest day a week.
- Choose one primary question bank and stop collecting resources.
Three weeks out
- Switch most of your practice to timed blocks, not untimed review.
- Rebuild each missed question into a one-sentence reasoning rule.
- Review safety and prioritization deliberately — it decides close questions.
- Do one full-length simulation and note where your attention drops.
Final week
- Stop adding new material. Consolidate what you already know.
- Sleep on your exam-day schedule, not your study-night schedule.
- Reread only your own error notes and reasoning rules.
- Plan the logistics: route, ID, arrival time, food, water.
Exam day
- Arrive early enough that traffic cannot change your morning.
- Read the last line of the stem first, then the whole item.
- Answer what is asked — safest, first, or best is not the same question.
- Flag and move. Momentum protects the questions you can win.
